Plain-English summary: We read your bank file to build your books, then delete it. We don't sell your data. We help organize — your CPA files your taxes.

1. What this is

SquaredAway ("we", "us") provides software that reads a bank-transaction file you provide and produces a categorized profit & loss summary. We are a bookkeeping-organization tool. We do not prepare, sign, or file tax returns, and we do not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice.

2. Information we handle

Files you upload (bank CSV/transaction exports). These may contain financial transaction details.
Contact info you give us (e.g., an email address for early access).
Basic usage data (that a demo or upload occurred, your IP address, timestamps).

3. How we treat uploaded financial files

Your uploaded file is processed to generate your summary and is deleted immediately after processing. We do not retain the contents of your transactions.
We do not require — and ask you not to include — full account numbers, Social Security numbers, or login credentials.
All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

4. How we use your information

To provide the service, respond to you, notify you about access, improve the product, and keep it secure. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us operate (e.g., email delivery, hosting), and when required by law. You control sharing your results with your own accountant.

6. Your choices

You may request access to or deletion of the contact information we hold about you by emailing us at the address below.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date will change accordingly.
